Project Duncan V

(the blank part is for the title that will be added later in after effects.)

This week I worked on transferring the cat's walking part into storyboard pro and it is pretty much done. I feel that she walks a little bit fast, but not very sure about it. Nex part will be she playing around the pond and finally sees the dog.

Project Duncan IV

This week I just used Flash to do the animation part because I wasn't able to access any of the cintiqs. I actually experimented how to animate the cat's walking into scenes part in flash. During next week, I will just import the flash file into storyboard and animate based on that.
I used the image below as a reference of cat's walking.

I will do several small tests in flash of the cat's jumping and interacting with the dog first and then animate the real ones in storyboard.

Project Duncan III

This week I start animating. I think I have some problems when i am animating in Storyboard Pro. I tried to set each panel as one frame long, but it didn't work. I can only set each fram to one second as the shortest possible length. Under this condition, I am afraid the movement might feel a little bit not smooth. I will probably try to animate in a different way instead of doing it frame by frame.
This video is what I have so far. This animation is probably going to be longer than one minute including the openning.

Project Duncan II

This week I was working on the watercolor background for my animation. I was not being able to start animating the first five seconds yet. I will start animating this week.

I design the cat is following a butterfly to a grass field and she sees the dog resting there.

Project Duncan I

I did my storyboard for my animation this week.

These read from left to right.

The cat is disturbing the dog who is sleeping. She wants his attention on her. The dog will stop her and push her away, but she never gives up. Finally, the dog accepts her. This will be the end. I desire to add some interesting  scenes, but I haven't decided yet because the time might not be enough to include too many elements.

Project Duncan Proposal

I proposed an idea for Ron Saks Project, but it didn't get selected. I really like that idea of making an animation about the love of a cat and a dog. I don't want to give it up, so I decide to pick it up and accomplish it for this project.

This was my old sketch.

I plan to shorten and simplify this animation down to 30 seconds. I will use some really simple lines to illustrate the cat an dog. The background will be scanned watercolor paintings and animated by Storyboard.
